  22. I find the Oktagon 2008 very satisfactory, but I don't know how it
  23. compares with the others.

  25. I'm using it on a 4000/40 which is about 2 years old - has a Rev.11
  26. buster chip and 3.1 processor board (I think - it was upgraded when
  27. Wang fitted the buster).  It's driving a 500Mb Fujitsu scsi drive on
  28. the Oktagon board, an internal Toshiba XM3401 CD drive, and an
  29. external Viper tape drive.  I've had no problems since I got the
  30. config right.  The Oktagon manual is very badly laid out with
  31. information closely printed and scattered about in various chapters
  32. instead of being in sensible step-by-step format.

  34. I don't normally pay attention to speed measurements, which are
  35. frequently bogus.  Sysinfo crashes if I ask it to tell me "Speed".
  36. But "it never keeps me waiting" :-)

  38. I just ran "DiskSpeed" and got the following:

  45. That's nowhere near the speed you ask for, but I don't know how
  46. my drive compares with yours. I had 5 large programs dormant in
  47. the background: Thor, BBS, Trapdoor, CygnusEd, DirOpus.
